Burnin down the house- almost

Spent hours making some homemade tamales (another go to cheap eat) only to almost burn the apartment down - swear I put water while they steamed, only to start a grease fire in the pot and smoke out the whole place like crazy. Fucking stinks in here...and trying to breath- worst is I ruined about 18 tamales.

Did the same 10 yrs ago with lil smokies...big smoke - whole house needed to be painted and saw the "backdraft" when we opened the door.

Dangerous.

Tomorrow we buy a kitchen extinguisher.

i smoked out an old 3rd floor apt with an almost catastrophic grease fire.

never been so scared in my life.

a level head is the only reason i didnt lose everything along with the 2 floors below me.

fuck the tamales! glad you ok!

years ago my mom was attempting to deep fry something don't know what, anyways, she had a frying pan full of oil and it caught on fire and instead of smothering it she tried to run for the front door and tripped, her whole left hand was pretty much to the bone w/melted flesh, took years to get her hand back to normal.

on another note but kind of the same, like 5-6yrs ago me, my girl, & my brother nick were at the farmington fair in maine, me and my girl went to the fire-dept-booth to get some red hot dogs and my brother went across the way to the 'blooming onion' stand and orderd a blooming onion go figure, and next thing I know my bro is yelling at the dudes putting together our hot dogs about some shit couldn't really make it out but he was freaking, turns out the lady making the onion dropped the spatula into the deep fryer and then just reached in and pulled it out like it was nothing, my bro was freaking as he just basically watched her arm melt, he asked if she was "ok" and she said "yeah" as her flesh is dripping, so he turned and saw us and ran up just happened we were at the fire dept booth, anywho, my bro got acknowlegement for being a hero/ect... never know, lol!

that reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer dips his entire arm in the barrel of hot carmel for making carmel apples.

be careful with that hot grease! that shit takes a loooooong time to cool down.
