Sort of late, and mildly off topic.
GyS handed down the Black Alva Caddy to me.
It is my first board in twenty years. I intend to do more carving/cruising than bowl stuff...still too unsteady to drop in. I have been riding the Caddy on Thunder Trucks and some vintage orange Kryptos, and I am astonished at how stable it is. Yesterday, I was street carving and never felt like I was behind the board. New bushings helped, and angled risers are on the way.
I like the concavity, but at speed, you had better mean it when you turn, because it is going to turn RIGHT NOW!
Bottom line, I am super grateful to Graham at Graveyard for getting an old fart back into skating...it means a lot. He just got in a load of Landyachtz boards, and now I just need to rob a bank to buy the Chief!
By the way, Graham is nine feet tall, so ALL boards are short to him, hehe.
