Well shit....I never check this forum and when I do, I find a good friend has been in an accident.....
BKB Dave.......get your sorry ass healed up and back to 100% so you can hound me weekly with emails begging for my 8-Ball Howell deck (*as seen in the book, Disposble: A History of Skateboard Art by Sean Cliver available online and at finer retail locations.....and yes, appearing in the book raises it's value too...haha). If this was some kinda well orchestrated plan to try to get me to feel sympathy for you and send the deck....good plan but I have a cold black heart. In all seriousness, I am thankful to hear it was not much worse and that you are doing well, all things considered. Tell Mrs. BKB I am sorry she has to put up with you and babysit you now for the coming weeks but that she can feel free to direct you here to keep you busy. Get well and do not rush the healing process.

I just read this thread too. Speedy recovery and all that rot, BKB. The good news is you will now join a couple of biker broken leg legends on the comeback: Billy Idol and Austrian skiing madman Hermann "The Hermannator" Maier. |

thanks everyone. im pretty fucken stoked at the number of well wishers... even some dudes who dont post here anymore/have been banned have emailed me wishing 'good luck and get well soon'.
im kinda back, but not really. still a lot of mending to do, and i can only sit upright for a small amount of time, what with the leg, the broken ribs and the shoulder all giving me grief.
im still heavily drugged up on morphine for the pain, which is nice. ill post some pics of the break in the next couple of days. it looks kinda cool. my new titanium leg! im totally metal!!
my motorbike is OK. almost unharmed. but mrs kahuna says it has to go. dohhhhhhh. pity. |

Leg of Austrian skier Hermann Maier (the Hermannator) following a motorcycle accident; before and after surgery (adapted from Sports Illustrated)
P.S. Mr. Maier just won the World Championship GS race, several years after almost losing his leg in a bike accident. As good as ever. |
