BigPapaSD wrote: I just saw the catalog for the reissues for powell from ASR. The min-cubics are exactly the same as the og. 64x47mm 95a. Also Ratbones are going to be reissued and The Cab and Mcgill Snubnose models I beleive they will be flat decks. Boards will be out in a couple of weeks, wheels in 5-6 weeks.
I am going to call the Powell Company and talk to the person that I gave the idea to regarding the reissiue of the cubics. Because, they said they will send me a set ot maybe a few sets because I pumped them up to bring back the minicubics. I would not mind the 64x64, 95a's though. But, there would be too much of an overhang. Because I only use Indy 215's.
I have a set of red dubcons the exact size of the powell minicubics, 95a and it is amazing how close they ride compared to the Powell minis. I guess I will have to put it to the test side by side. Does anyone feel that the dubcons, 95a or just as good as the cubics as far as the way the way they ride? Also has anyone reversed dubcons to prevent overhang on narrower decks?
@Grim Shady, I dropped you a PM |

I know Dave from sk8supply pretty well. He once sold me some clear griptape and it had a run/line going down it and I did not notice it till after I put it on top of some vintage stickers. I wrote him to tell him and he called me and asked what stickers got damaged and I said it was a couple of Kryptonics stickers and the large Powell Dragon Oval Sticker (in red) and a few more. He could not replace them. But, made up for it by sending me a few vintage stickers...like a large Logan Earth Ski sticker, a varaflex sticker an orignal Rat bones sticker and I few I can't remember off hand and he replaced the grip tape. I just used a hair dryer to get the old tape off and 'Goo Gone' to remove the sticky stuff and hooked up my deck again.
Some of things are cheaper than skate.one. But, not everything. Like if you want a Powell Tail Bone or Nose Bone, Skate.one only charges $5.00. But, sk8supply charges like $8.99 for tail bones. I do alot of business with Jim from Old Star skates. Outlook has a few OK things. It just depends on what you are looking for. Oldschoolskates is most likely the best for old school stuff. I was getting lappers from them and I got a few vintage stickers as well.
I talked to Kam at skate one and he is going to send me a set of minicubics. I reminded him I was the one that pushed for the cubics and I mentioned that if they are going to sell reissue spoon nose decks that the G Bones are not what people want...if they can get cubics instead and George felt it made sense.

Hi Kam,
Below is a quote that I got off a skateboard forum telling everyone that in fact the minicubics are going to be on the market. That sounds too good to be true. But, if it is true, should I give you my address.
After all, I did put the seed in your head about it and in turn George approved the project.
Regards,
Dave.

Hi Dave,
I believe they are finally in the works. I do not know exactly when they will be done, but I expect at least a couple of weeks. I will be happy to send you a promo set when they become available. Send me your address where you want these sent.
Thanks,
Kam

I dont mind the reissue
i just hate when the dam things are identical
I mean a nice set of MiniCubics would be worth alot,as is a clean Cab
now Powell reissues them identical and well
so long collectable
Im selling my old powells tomorrow on ebay before they tank in value
Look for em |
