mK,
I think I should just fly you over here and you can win this cook off.
Seriously thanks heaps for the info.
This Sunday I am going to light a fire near the river ( My house backs onto a river ) take myself down a few beers and attempt to the family some Yorkshire Pudding (Providing it does not rain as it is winter here).
I will take some pics of the outcome.
Cheers

bastards!
Ahh, a true Blueblood, God Save the Queen!
(Truth be told, I'm barely English in my lineage, I come from a long line of troublemakers forever circling the Crown with an impotent menace...
...I'm Welsh, Cornish, Scots and Irish....
god save the queen?
nah...fuck her and piss on her chips!
she aint MY queen!
theres only one of them listed that really cuts any ice with me and they dont like leaks, cornish pasties or Guiness!
so judging by yer Sassenach comment, that must make you a Teuchter?
from where abouts exactly? |

Kelty is a little Mining Town in Fife. As near as we can figure, our Ancestors landed for a brief minute in time in Ireland (Cork and Galway), but shot off for the Colonies with a quickness in the Late 1600's/Early 1700's... |

sorry to distract from that bloody lovely recipe and coking bit above but i really dont understand how the fuck one of yer ancesters living somewhere fer a few years makes you a member of the country.
fucking hell, i lived in dubai fer a few years but that doesnt make me a fucking shiekh!
no offence meant by that by the way...i just have never understood why americans cant just be americans instead of having to trace their blodlines from the 11th century etc.
and now......back to the bastard food! |

It's all about yanking the women off for the ride. Take an Irish Bride, make a Scots-Irish kid....
FWIW, the Kelty's had a couple waves into the U.S., mostly from Ireland, and a few stuck around Cork, blowing glass there for a few centuries, so we're nominally Irish, but the roots appear to be Fife.
Now, BRING ON THE PUDDING!
P.S. when your Nation is only a couple hundred years old, you tend to feel like you're missing out on something, we have to look back further to find some comfort...
...besides, saying you're a Fifth Generation San Gabriel Valley kid isn't nearly as impressive... |
