There's a really good place that we don't eat at nearly enough that has a honkey menu and a Chinamen menu. We don't know what any of the stuff is on the Chinamen menu, but it's usually pretty damn good.
For the Miami locals, it's called Lung Gong, and it's on SW 8th just west of the turnpike on the south side of the street, near a Mobil station (the only place in Dade County I've found Choco-Tacos) and a Pet Supermarket. Check it out next time you're out that way.
Panda Express is ok.... I like the Spicy eggplant with tofu.
I grew up in Miami, I used to go to a place in North Mimi Beach that had two menus for gringos and for Chinese.... the Chinese's menu had stuff like duck feet casserole. 
Is that place on the corner of NE 163 st & Dixie Hwy. still there, the one with the big Buddha statue out front?..... Anybody? |

Just got back from China and realized how unChinese my chinese dining had been...(or different regions)
lots o' goose, but then add congealed pork blood for a new taste
chicken feet in abalone sauce? wtf
giant sea worm? wtf
shark fin soup (politics aside, fucking good)
Felt like I was on a tv show, but just regular dim sum restaurants- have been ruined forever... |

Back to Chinese: well ok it is Chinese, but done in a Vietnamese style. From the section of town we call "Little Saigon", here is a plate of grub from Bahn Mi Che Cali. Only $3.25. This is the "Teriyaki Chicken" It is good and it is filling, but not much variety. You can order chicken or beef, and it comes with bok choi, broccoli, rice, teriyaki sauce and vietnamese sauce. You can get it with stir fried vegetabables, that's only 2 bucks or 2.50. The place is a bakery, it is great. They always have hot baked bread, they move a shitload of the stuff. Almost always whatever loaf you buy it is hot or warm. They have lots of mystery food too, but I only get it when I have an interpreter. They have viet sandwiches that are 2.50 or 3 for 5. Unusual, filling, good. Each one is only a little smaller than a $5 subway airbread ripoff food sandwich, but made with real food ingredients.
The place is called Bahn Mi Che Cali and it is on Brookhurst by McFadden in the lovely city of Westminster, CA.
