I nominate myself...the Devil's advocate. (That would be a badass company name...)
Wendingo-doesn't cut to the bone.
All popsicles? Take a chance and make some old school football decks with a defined nose and tail. 25-35 year olds have money to burn, case in point, uh, all of us pretty much.....
Make a whole section but equal to what you put out in popsicles. Reverse innovation. Distinguish yourselves from the rest of the pretenders and be contenders.
Graphics are all over the place. Young companies need an identity. Stick to a very minor minor loose theme if possible. Series' are overdone, wait on that.
Skulls are worn out and yours looks too much like a cross between Alien Workshop stuff/new blind reaper guy.
That Strangeflight deck is the most intriguing. Maybe make a whole cast of characters in that whispy, eerie style. Some with scenes, large portraits, that would be wild and as soon as you see one you know who it is.
Basically, if you are going to be putting time, money and effort in...
Be shepherds-not sheep.
JPC-President of Devil's Advocate Deck Company.
Man, I wish I had some loot and time to make decks. That would be fun as hell-especially if people bought them. Good luck fellas. |

Whoa! loads of activity in the thread since I last looked! Thanks everyone...
I pretty much agree with everyone's comments, but have some extra info to add:
All Popsicles
We're actually going to start off with 2 decks, probably popsicles due to cost considerations... but I'd be more than willing to go with some classic shapes for future runs!
Graphics all over the place
Yeah.... in actuallity every single graphic (save for Whale vs. Squid) is just an image out of my sketchbook/portfolio stuck onto a fake board template. I was just showing jedi_d. some ideas for styles. Since making that page we've gotten together and started pouring over what our options are. The two deck we go with will have a definite common style/feel... |

The Wendigo logo reminds me of a character from one of (several of?) the Super Mario games.
I dig it all but the Safety decks, although I agree with JCP's idea of sort of narrowing the focus of the graphics a bit. |

Im not diggin the name myself but I do like the Whale vs Squid. Im thinking about starting to collect fish grapics for some odd reason. I dont even like fish I have no idea why I want to collect decks of this type of graphic so it will probably never happen. |

hey,
yeah, enough with the popsicles.
go with an "old" fish shape or something.
the art is o.k. to very cool.
what gets me to buy a deck is shape/skateability.
a popsicle with the best art in the world just
doesn't do it for me.(just my .02 ya know?)
good luck to you guys!
it's great to see some S&B'ers giving it a go.
