Thanks suicidal- I was told one thing and sold another. It is still one of the sickest decks in my collection, and it does look cool, I'm just a little pissed about missing out on the "whole truth"- Regardless, its a keeper |

Naw, you don't want to keep that stupid thing. Why don't you let me take it off your hands for you? |

Nothing wrong if you decide to clear coat a rare deck, but definitely not NOS anymore. Modified or restored at best.
The seller is at fault for sure. Should have come clean on the clear coat before making the sale. |

I really don't get it. Are you guy's telling me that a clearcoated board is not NOS? Comeahhhn! You compare a clearcoated board 10 years from now with one that isn't and then we'll see what you say. When one is all faded, scratched and warped the clearcoated one will be shiny and real perty. You guy's crack me up. So if you take a board out of the shrinkwrap does that mean it's not NOS as well? There goes my collection. I'm cornfused. I guess my clearcoated Gonz is only worth 400 instead of 500. God PLEASE tell me it's still mint! 'cause I ONLY buy mint. Please forgive me for I have sinned and bought a clearcoated board. I'll have to say that the clearcoat makes the board look awful nice(but that's my opinion). |

Know- I cannot disagree with you, it is a keeper, and it looks pretty freakin' cool, but the whole reason I started this chatty-chat thing is because I was lied to about its condition. If'n I ever decide not to keep the 'stupid thing', I'll let you know. |

I guess I see your point. When I bought mine I just thought ...cool. I asked the seller how he did it and he said he bought it that way. Now I've been thinkin' of doin' it to all of my boards. Now you guy's got me thinkin' twice though. Definately look me up if you ever want to sell it.

See you all at 'Palm Beach Louis Vuitton Classic Skateboard Show' beleive me thats the future the way you guys are talking
So if your nos deck has the shink rap torn so the pro could autograph it its not nos and its not worth as much as a unspoilt unsigned one
wish I had a few 'spoilt' jeff phillips decks |

You guys can do whatever you want to your boards. I don't keep mine in shrink wrap or under glass, but I also wouldn't take a NOS (mint or whatever you wnt to call it) board and add an "after-market" finish. You can still call the board NOS if you want. However, if you then decide to sell that board without disclosing the fact that you've altered the original finish, that's dishonest. That's the point! |
