here's some excellent hungarian goulash type stuff:
Soemtimes I will go 1/2 sweet paprika and 1/2 hot , or just add hot paprika to the recipe....
1 to 1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat or round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
 1 cup chopped onion
 2 small cloves garlic, minced
 1/2 teaspoon salt
 1/2 teaspoon pepper
 1/2 cup water
 2 tablespoons tomato paste
 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
 1/2 cup water
 1/4 cup sour cream
hot cooked buttered egg noodles, tossed with poppy seeds
PREPARATION:
Place beef in slow cooker; add onion and garlic. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Combine water, tomato paste, and paprika; pour over beef mixture. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours. Combine flour, water, and sour cream or yogurt; stir into meat mixture. Cook, uncovered, on HIGH for 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve over buttered noodles tossed with poppy seeds.
got some other good ones; but I will have to hunt them up... |
