a lot of the time kids put their boards right along the coping when they arent skating. this is the worst, cause they dont understand what they are doing wrong. the only way i can do this effectively is grinding in that same spot so that i hit their boards. im usually bigger than them so it doesnt slow me down and they get the point |

The ones that really get me are the kids who practice their ollies in the flat of the bowl. Its a former Vans park so there is plenty of space elsewhere to get in other peoples way.
I subscribe to the just bomb fast and weave around them theory. It usually scares them out of the area. |

Yeah what gets me is just the overall cocky as hell attitude. These kids are really young, and when I was that age I atleast showed some respect to guys that are older.
They seem to thrive on acting like dicks and pi$$ing everone off. Maybe it is the "Bam" influence? |

Here's a novel idea: instead of reacting to a ten year old as if they are a retarded peer, and getting all upset and yelling, take the time to calmly explain skate etiquette to them. Don't forget, these kids go to school everyday, so they are used to being wrong and then corrected by adults. |

that reminds me of a story from my youth.... it was road trip time, so me and my buddies piled up in his moms van, with little money, and a case of strawberry hill... not a bad score for 5 teenagers... anyways, we go down to SUAS, it was fucking awesome, big time rippers, magnusson, grosso, phillips, just ot name a few... anyways, we were farting around on a little mini ramp inside of a little warehouse or something, it was tight (maybe stubbs can help with the logistics) we were all holding our decks over the coping so we could snake after the rider bailed or got done, whatever... out of the blue, Danny Webster does one of those smooth as hell layback tailslide things for about 15 feet and knocks all of our boards right out from under our feet.... we learned our lesson for sure...
back to you... |

I'll have to agree with BuckToff
I think they legitately don't know the skate etiquette because no one has
ever taken the time to explain it to them....There used to probably having
very little supervision when skateboarding and there parents are more than likely not even aware that skateboarding has unwritten rules..
Just kindly explain that it's not cool to snake others and I'm sure they get the drift. If not then a collission with a 200 pound, sweaty man will certainly get their attention |

@Buck and Tad.....
Well said guys. Kids must be given the benefit of the doubt. I remember being a grom and had park etiquette "Explained to me" by a certain proprieter of Skull Skates. Never forgot it.... Thanks Bent, although there's no way you'd remember.
Buck and Tad... Bill and Ted?? Hmmmm... |

even worse is when they put their feet on the coping and you have to grind on their toes. |
