I forgot to mention that it appears Indy borrowed the kingpin idea from Bennett who did it long before Indy and Grindking, just as they did the Bennett baseplates and the geometry (Doctor Rick Blackhart said in an interview that he suggested the Bennett geometry when he was helping them design Independent Trucks). Oddly enough, according the legendary Mr. Bennett, Bennett Truks were dropped by NHS who was their distributor just before Indy came out (NHS distributed Indy on day one—they also dropped Alligators, the first skateboard wheel with precision bearings when Road Riders appeared on NHS distribution catalog with Precision bearings).
