It could depend on what brand grip tears well, as well. I've never used that method, as I always fear I'm gonna mess up a good piece of grip.
A lot of grip had different personalities, so... anyone know what brand grip tears well? Maybe that's what you meant to ask?

I did the same on a Powell Ripper re-ish.
I used sissors and just did a jagged cut, came out great |

SnB can be a rough terrain here and there, 4hammond, you might need a rather sophisticated and perhaps a permanent 4-wheel drive if you want to make it here.
