because he skates, like the rest of us..grew up doing it, etc
and maybe because his name rings bells in some circles it might bring more attention to projects hes involved with.
the film looks rad |

"How did Ben Harper, who narrates the film, get involved in the project"
"Mike Horelick and Jon Carnoy: So here we are sitting in the legendary Rip City Skate Shop in Santa Monica, when who comes in but Ben Harper, who besides being an amazing musician, is a huge skateboarder. We worked up the courage to show him a couple rough clips from the project, and he loved it. He remembered reading about the races back in the day as a skateboarding kid. Ben brings an enthusiasm for the project that you can’t fake. He serves as the storyteller of this amazing tale, and exceeded our expectations only by about a thousand times."

Looks good Mike.
See you next time I'm at Rip City (you always seem to be there when I am, which isn't often...) |

Just had a great time showing the film at Waldo's memorial yesterday at the Huntington Beach Surf Museum. Lots of Waldo's friends, family and fans turned up to honor the legend. Showed the film and there was also footage and photos of Waldo too.
Thanks to all who turned up - looking forward to the next screenings. Will announce soon.
Thanks!
