I've been having a hard time finding FdS at either of my local grocery stores lately so I wrote to Haagen Dazs to let them know that I hoped that this was an issue of supply not being able to meet demand rather than the other way around.
I told them that I liked the FdS so much that to take it away would anger me to the point that I'd likely boycott HD for the remainder of my ice cream eating days, but that if FdS became a regular production flavor, they could reasonably count on receiving 19 of every 20 of my ice cream purchases in perpetuity.
Here's what I heard back:

Unfortunately, this particular product line has been discontinued. However, if we hear from enough consumers who share your views on this subject, we will certainly consider reinstating this product line.
We appreciate your taking the time to contact our company to let us know of your flavor preference.

If you enjoyed Fleur de Sel, please take a moment and let HD know what a tragic mistake it would be to permanently discontinue the flavor. Even if you didn't get a chance to try it, as long as you like ice cream, you owe it to yourself to make a small effort to be able to try it at some time in the future. It's that fucking good.
