What restaurants do you visit while traveling on business or pleasure because you can't get it where you live?

I am in Las Vegas right now. I always have to eat at In-N-Out Burger & Roberto's Taco Shop when ever I come here.

In N Out.

I check out www.roadfood.com for local joints...also ask random local people (front desk, shop clerks, ...) where they go out to eat - usually get off the track less expensive spots

I always have to hit up Dirty Dicks Crab House in VA Beach or Nagshead NC when I am down there. Great food. Their fried crab lasagna was amazing, but they took it off the menu... bastards.

OH SHIT -

you're in Vegas - you MUST go to The Peppermill.
on the strip, near the Wynn. Classic. Head to the lounge in the back prior to eating, sit by the fire/fountain (you'll see...) - then
grab a meal out front.

Man, you've gotta go - seriously. Like, now. Really.

lol there used to be a Peppermill in Concord. its Paradise 33 now or something. like Vietnamese/American

anyway, what I miss from being on tour is Waffle House, WhiteCastle/Krystal and Chicago deep dish pizza.

Its funny how things are regional. Our roadie from Miami was all excited when we went to a Jack In The Box. He even called his friends back home to brag. "dude you'll never guess where I am..."

Jack in the Box was like this mysterious far-off land only known of from legends passed on from weary travelers.

It sounds like we had the same eating habits while on tour. Many a night at Krytal/Castle and mornings at Waffle House/Denny's. Also a lot of nights at Wawa/Royal Farms convienance stores.

I once made a plan to eat pizza in every state we traveled to while on tour. Gino's East in Chicago was the best. Of course eating PB&J and water for a few weeks will make the ass of a cat taste good.
