Good eating....but I prefer the fish tacos at my favorite little local Mex joint in Tempe (grilled fish/not fried and wrapped in two soft tortillas). I hear that Chuy's has good ones too but haven't been. |

I dig on Wahoos. Probably the best fish taco this side of San Felipe, mex. they make them usually from Mahi Mahi a great fish outta Hawaii
I just actually had my first at the premeire of Tony Hawks Secret Skatepark tour premeire at Quiksilver about months ago. Actually I ate about 6!!
Im stoked that they are building one near me in the next few months.

My Wahoos
Just remodeled (Laguna Beach).
Previous establishment had two skateboards. A Pscycho stick and a Gonz hanging on a wall.
Dunno what happened to them.

Wahoos is bland, weakly flavored and pretty much catered to Anglo tastes.
Gotta throw a shitload of Jalapenos on it just to taste anything.
Definately NOT a Mexican food joint. More like a faux/Baja minimalist similar-to-Mex-food joint. Without the tortillas it would be just a food joint. If Taco Bell made fish tacos, it'd be the same. And even the tortillas are weak. Too thin. Like store bought cheapos. Ate at the Costa Mesa place a couple times, and noticed the serious lack of Mexica customers. That tells you something right there. Much better place just up the road from there. MUCH better. Real frijoles, rice and lots of flavor. The right flavors.
Fuck Wahoos.
Wahoos to Mexican food, is like Coors and Bud is to beer. |

Cheap and filling?
Glad I passed the Eddie Boy test by picking the local Mexican joint over all of them! |
