It is just 2 months from now that we will begin the celebration of Meat Week 2007.
Plans are already being made within the Atlanta chapter.
Jan. 29 - Feb. 5
8 consecutive nights of BBQ dinners at 8 different BBQ restaurants.
Last year we had over 80 participants nationwide from Atlanta, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Athens, and Los Angeles.
Last year's 8 BBQ stops in Atlanta:
Sonny's (gross, but the traditional Meat Week starting point)
Old Hickory House (Tucker location)
Williamson Brothers (Marietta location)
Maddy's Rib and Blues Joint
Rolling Bones BBQ
Harold's BBQ
Sprayberry's BBQ (Newnan, GA)
Daddy D'z Rib Joint
Get your meat team assembled and go forth into BBQ. Report back with photos and critiques.
http://groups.myspace.com/meatweek
It will be saucesome.
That is all. |

Gimme the exact dates and I can make it happen.
Birmingham contingent representing:
Golden Rule BBQ
Full Moon BBQ
Bob Sykes BBQ
Dreamland BBQ (Lame now that they serve everything instead of ribs whitebread and beer. But, if your counting Sonny's, then, it's acceptable.)
Big Bob Gibson's (Home of the Alabama WHITE SAUCE!)
Carslile's BBQ (Pedestrian BBQ, but insane Burgers!)
DeMitri's BBQ (Those wacky Greeks got if figured out!)
Johnny Ray's BBQ
I'm down, Derek. |

All we ask is that you document the festivities and share with the group.
We also get shirts made, but that's not mandatory. |

Nashville here.
One Stop (Franklin TN)
Hog Heaven
Jacks Bar-B-Que
Mary's Old Fashion Barbeque
Neely's Bar-B-Que (out of Memphis)
Judge Bean's Bar-B-Que (*TX Style)
Pig & Pie
Jim & Nicks (out of AL)
*if TX BBQ is not permitted, we'll replace it w/ Whitt's Barbeque
A couple of these places will require lunchtime visits (or to go and reheated @ night...) --- they are not the kind of places that a guy of my race would be welcome after dark...
I can smell the smoke allready... |

I would love to participate, but I don't know of 8 BBQ joints in Miami. |

here ya' go Rockstar...
http://miami.citysearch.com/yellowpag...r_id=2&cw1=11
*starting w/ 137 choices, weeding out the Sonny's, Chili's, and random BS chains, I'm confident you can come up w/ 8 primo opportunities in a fairly close area... |

Last year we ate so much BBQ that my pee smelled like BBQ sauce.
Be prepared. The Atlanta chapter is mulling over a warmup session where my roommate is planning on smoking a whole hog. Just a little training exercise before the big game. |
