Just bought 3 dozen killer Tamales from the fine ladies at the little Mexican Church downtown. I ask you...is there a more perfect food?
If you don't hear from me over the next 24 hours...please call 911 as I have probably exploded.

oh man - I'll gladly swap a 8 piece fried chicken (by the ladies @ the church...) for a dozen of those tamales...hell, I'll even throw in some of their killer mashed potatoes!

They are so perfect. Moist, but not too moist...just the right ratio of meat to masa (you can taste both), spice is zingy but doesn't overpower...it's almost an erotic experience. IMHO Perfect.
My wife needs a dozen of them to make her absurdly wonderful TAMALE DRESSING/STUFFING for Thanksgiving, the rest are mine....maybe.
I better go dig out my fat pants. |

what kinds are they slanging?
its all about variety.
my grandma makes several dozen for all the family around christmas
my favorite are her jalapeno and cheese tamales...
she makes 2 dozen of those just for me. sooooo good. |

See my other post on here about Tamales. 
Found out from the girl that works at my fav Mexican place in Arizona that all the women in her family get together around T'Giving and make all kinds of insane Tamales (many I have never heard of!....like sweet corn tamales, green chili tamales, and other stuff they mix in and stuff them with.) |

I second the tamale notion. We are lucky enough to have the girls come by my workplace and sell out of their car. Not only are they great tamales but they deliver them too. 
Pork is the text book tamale hands down. I also like chicken and green chili tamales...mmmm. |
