So, I know a few of you guys are using this for printing on decks. I am aware that you need retarder to keep it from drying out in the screen, but my question is: What is the correct mixing ratio for ink to retarder?
Also, I read somewhere on the board that this same ink can be used on t-shirts. Is this true? If so would you have to use the retarder for this process as well? And does it have to be heat cured or can it just dry out open aired?
That would be rad to have the same ink for printing decks and shirts!
thanks again!

I have found that the required thinner works fine when doing decks. I would suggest that you use it for small runs when doing decks 3-5 max. I love this stuff for vinyl stickers. As for shirts I have tried it in the past and was happy at first, but the ink does not stay intact for very long (washings) I belive plastisol printing is the way to go for shirts. I have since found a printer for my shirts. I never need to flash dry with this ink. I would suggest no more than a 5-10% delution of thinner and 10% would be pushing it. I say experiment with it and read the info that nazdar provides :

Good luck! |

skinny -
You rule! I couldn't get that PDF to load up earlier today, and had forgotten about it, thanks for posting it. You said only go w/ 3-5 decks in one run..... Couldn't you actually print longer if you clean the screen and remix the ink/retarder? Or does the ink dry out after that many board screenings?
oooo.. I think I could give up printing my own shirts for printing vynl stickers instead! I can always get my shirts done locally, so no big deal.
Thanks alot,

I have found that its is not so much about the ink drying in the screen as it is about losing detail cause of build up on the back of the screen. Vinyl stickers are what this stuff is made for. Post pictures! |

Will do! I'm getting my decks next week. Chemicals should be here sometime this week. Oh - let the torture begin.
Skinny - I saw a thread a while back w/ a few pics of your press set up... Great idea! Any chance of getting some close up pics of the pully system and the mold encasing posted somewhere or emailed?
also, do you have a supplier for your vynil sticker paper?

shit man, your right... it wasn't your press I saw, I think it was Caspean's (company name, not sure of his screen name here) set up that had the pullys.
Thanks for that link, I've been searchin the google for the past hour. Whoa, some weird stuff on there. What are you printing on? Have you messed w/ that white hi gloss stuff? I don't really dig the floresents .
Would love to check out you press set up, I'll post some pics of my screen jig and board rack I built this past weekend... I've got the bug bad, can't wait to get started!

Order both the ink and the retarder from Nazdar direct (great shipping). And yes, you need the retarder. This ink can be a pain in the ass when trying to get the mixture of ink/retarder right. It does just great for decks and stickers though.
