if you can help, i'd appreciate it. i recently traded a deck with grip tape residue left as i didnt want to do anything that might damage the finish for the new owner. i'm just hoping to find some good tips on what products or procedures that may help me in the future when i have the same problem. it would bite to ruin a vintage from stupid glue left.
any feedback appreciated fellas, thanks. |

thanks for the replies so far fellas...so "goo gone"? polock, any specific type or brand of adhesive remover you had success with?
i'm just a little iffy on using anything "liquid" form that could seep into the wood. my girl tells me baking soda works great, but it needs water |

trust me with the goo gone. Ill dip the board in a bucket of it and itll be fine. just pour some on and let it sit for a few minutes, then instead of a rag, I scrape it off with a chizel and it comes off like butter, literally. but you have to be light with the chizel application so that you dont get any scratches and I havent so far. Its the quickest, easiest way yet. |

I sure as fuck wouldn't dip a board in Goo Gone. It works, but you have to keep your eye on it. It will fuck up the graphics if left on a spot unattended for too long, and it likes to run where you can't see it. Particularly through truck holes, so tape 'em up.
Use Goo Gone and some green and yellow kitchen sponges cut into strips to get it off. The green side works the best, but it'll eventually get too boogered up, and you'll have to use the next section, and the next, and the next, and this pen, and this lamp...

many threads on this subject and in all of them I type "beware of eucalyptus oil, it stripped the top graphic clean off a Natas kitten I used it on" |
