Not hardcore punk, but I went and saw the Pixies reunion show here in Victoria tonight.
And what a fucking show it was!!!
The band came out and and pretty much barrelled though an hour and a half of hits. They didn't play anything after the Doolittle record. I walked out of there with a stellar live recording of the show I had just watched!
This show just totally made up for me having tickets to what turned out to be their last show before they broke up in 92 and not getting in because I was a couple months shy of being legal. |

Ah yes they rocked here too. I ended up having to head north to Edmonton to watch them and it was totally worth it. Walked out with a CD as well for the ride home. |

I'll swap you a copy of the Victoria show for a copy of the Edmonton show? |

I'm heading out next Thursday to see them play in Davis, CA. It's the night before my 30th birthday, and this is going to be quite a treat for me. They've always been a favorite of mine.
I know, not hardcore punk. There's lots of screamin', though... |

im still comming to grips with the fact that they even got back together!
just a few years ago, kim was like, no fucking way i would ever do that again.
and now........
i cant wait until they come around here.
was it hard to get tickets? im sure it sold out in like two minutes.
i figured frank alone doing wave of mutilation was going to be as good as it got for me.

It sucked getting tickets here. It was all worht it in the end though. The opening notes to Debaser to kick off the show gave me enough goosebumps for the whole thing! |

I will trade a stack of old Pixies ('87 - '91) boots for CD-R boots (no tapes) of their new shows.
PM me if you're down... |

Pixies were not really what I consider punk but they were post-punk alternative in the vein of Husker Du(who started out punk)and they could rock-out with same ferocity.

I've got the first night of the new tour (4/13/04, MN) that I would be willing to burn to two CD-Rs and ship out in trade, preferably for another show on this new tour - i've got quite a few of their older shows already, so I'm not that interested in the older stuff. Shoot me a message if interested. This is right from the DiscLive CD and sounds quite good.
