Have any of you suffered from severe Knee Arthritis or know someone who did/does?
What treatment worked best?
Anyone got new knees or know someone who did/does?
How did it go? Can you/they still skate? |

Been there, done that after a couple knee injuries at work. Far worse now, unfortunately. My knees were so inflamed Friday night through to Monday afternoon that I could barely walk with a cane or sit or lay down and the pain was 10 out 10! Had to wait till Monday at 4:30 to have a specialist for several Olympic teams and the Hitmen hockey team inject cortizone into both knees (not the first or even the 8th time). You can't get that done at a hospital for some reason and though there are a few places that do it, its weeks waiting for an appointment.
New knees is an option... but I don't want to do unless there is skateing on the other side of the surgury. |

my knee is killing me since I skated a week and half back and it got progressively worse in the last 5 days. This could be it for me skating, I haven't been on the board much in the last couple of years but this time it might have just decided it. Same thing, it kills to standup after sitting, it's hard to sleep. The pain/recovery cost/benefit equation isn't working out anymore, getting old sucks ass. |

I have a degenerative left hip full of arthritis. A slipped disk. Bad knees because of my height and weight. I can’t even make a couple runs down the street without having to be couch bound the next day. I’m active but I feel I’m done skating. It just hurts too much and I’m not as into it anymore. |

This.
Who am I kidding? I’ll try anything to keep skating. |
