I would never eat a fuckin clam, but Clamato is SOOOOO good.
Like V8 with actual flavor. Lots of celery, and no clam flavor.
They should lose the undetectable clam element from the drink and the name, so people will actually buy it. |

(i dont trust the premixed budweiser & clamato tall boys) |

as a bartender, I serve a few of the Clamato/Tomato juice and beer (mostly Bud Light) combos..... I never understood it, myself.
But I work in a mostly hispanic neighborhood. They also put in limes and Tobasco.
As far as Clamato by itself, I kinda like it, but wish they wouldn't add all the high fructrose corn syrup in it. I wonder what a homemade tomato juice/clam juice (with a little squeezed lemon) would taste like....... hmmmm.......
I got some experamenting to do. |

Don't you make Ceasar's?
Ingredients:
3oz vodka
6oz Mott's Clamato Juice (Extra Spicy)
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
3 dashes tabasco sauce
1 Celery Stalk
1 Lime Wedge
Rim a tall cocktail glass with the lime wedge and then Celery salt, fill with ice. Pour in Vodka and Clamato juice. Add 3 dashes each of Worcestershire and Tabasco sauce. Garnish with crisp Celery stalk and Lime wedge.

# oz. vodka to 6 oz Clamato? that's pretty strong..... most drinks use 1- 2 oz. |

Red beer, or beer and Clamato, is really tasty. I usually would have a brutus sized glass and dump a beer in then fill the rest with Clamato. My boss introduced me to it a long time ago and I like it.
Sometimes I will add a little salt and pepper to it. Or some garlic salt.
And caeser's are gooooooooooooood with Clamato! |
