I wasn't interested in bidding on it anyways.. Except you posted about it over and over here.
Ask yourself.. If a guy is willing to pay you "that much" for it. Why wouldn't he just bid on it like all the other guys?
Because he was afraid somebody would pay more than he would..

That's exactly right. I'm guessing that the offer was between $1500-1800 USD.
