sk8librarian- still have that alva caddy??? wanna move it??
Sorry..the caddy is long gone from my quiver. I never did get used to the rounded tail and the steep concave, but it was a fun ride....just not a setup that I could get into.
From Bill's pics, it seemslike the band aid Alva deck is killer. Squarer tail, less concave. I am thinking about getting one from one from Mark at milehighskates.com when they become available
Andrew
Got one just waiting to be abused. You buy from us, love it long time. You become biggest funk soul brother at skatepark!

Bonebrake
Does anyone carve that whole bowl at top speed without getting on the flat? What I mean is, can you get enough speed in that bowl to where you just ride the walls all the way around? The bowl at Jeff Phillips' park was like that. Endless revolutions and never hit the flats. |

Yeah what wedge said
I wish I could edit his post
My wife reads this
But yes you can do that Stubbs. Its a 7' deep L-shape with a hip made for skating and bikes so its a decent-sized. I knew right away when I first started skating that you could do that with this bowl and made it my primary objective. All it takes is loose trucks & knee bends. Wedge is really close but he always does this little kickturn at the very moment he could bend it through a turn. But I can't get through to him...

Yes, sir! Ya gotta do it, WEDGE! Slalom action around a bowl is killer.
