Meet with the city manager, mayor, and basically anyone else who can make a change.

They build a skatepark here without consulting anyone who knows about skateboarding, and spent $80K on a park that people don't want to skate. They put down asphalt for the surface and spaced the ramps so far out that they are basically unusable.

When the kids refused to skate the park, they outlawed skating downtown and started writing $500 tickets...

During the last meeting, I believe that they finally started to understand that the park just plain sucked, and that they could have done 100 times better had they consulted with ANYONE who understood how to set up a park. Hell, all they had to do was look at the next county over, where the city of Dunedin hired Team Pain to build a pretty sweet park that a lot of people use daily!

The city manager told us last week that they were at least now open to the idea of doing the park in concrete and accepting input for setting up the ramps once the concrete is done....so there is hope.

Only pic I could find of a nearby park in Arab. To the left is a 5' wedge, and the right is a quarter that goes from 4' - 6'. Too close together, but they have a lot of room to grow. Right now it is a flatlanders dream.
