I need a good chart for design placements. Something with measurements would be great. Left chest prints for different sizes, back prints, anything you might find helpful.

Thanks for any help!

3 fingers width down from the bottom of the collar if it's an "open" full front/chest print.

4 fingers down if it's a straight line of text or a rectangular box design.

2 fingers down for a left chest print and about 2 fingers width off the centerline of the shirt.

Back print top for me usually prints at about a third of the way down the sleeve seam. A little higher if it's a name (like on a jersey).

if you would like an actual "print guide"(i.e. a mylar sheet that you can lay over the back of your screen that has a center line and horizontal lines at one inch increments all the way down and you lay your art underneath and slide it into position) M&R makes one that i use at work that came with one of our automatic machines(our M&R Challenger i do believe)
and it helps immensely..i can line up my art in exactly the right spot every time and i just use transparent scotch tape to tape the edges of the art to the back of the screen...i also have my "left or right chest"placements marked, etc. etc.

you could make your own i suppose that would work just as well.

i know you were probably asking what the preferred placement that most people use for "typical" logo's on shirts and it's up to you where you think it looks best(as a lot of people have their own opinion what looks best)

on normal t-shirts a center logo generally goes 3-4 inches down from the bottom of the neck seam but it also depends on the size of the logo and also where your customer desires it to be.

left or right chest logo's are usually 2-2 1/2 inches over from center and about 3-4 inches down from the bottom of the neck seam but that also varies on shirt size(bigger shirts like XXXL,etc. i tend to move it away from center a bit more so it looks "correct" and also polo shirts are also a slightly different spot)

on polo's i usually try to have the bottom of my logo lining up with the bottom of the button placket.

if all else fails take your piece of art and lay it on your shirt and figure out how it looks best to you..there is no right or wrong answer generally speaking but what i mentioned in my post is typically the "industry norm".

Good Luck and Happy Squeegee pulling!

I use a pin registration system that I improved from Vastex's version,

and I have permanant art templates that I created and use for proper placement for everything I do...

has registration marks, center marks, and all you do is copy in your art and print...

then I use a 2 part registration board to burn and place the art on the press

about 2 hours of pre press work building the stuff means 0 set up time on the press it self...
