I ride bidecks, no singles or those little skis that attached to skate trucks. here's a few pics of my boards. from left to right gnu danny kass, chiller top deck(my deck) that mounts to the ralston, and both libs, then a gnu ohio and a powskate.
my top deck that I press in my shop has an adjustable front truck which allows it to be mounted to various sub decks with different insert spacing.
both of the libs are banana mtx. Snowskates were actually the first boards that lib tried out the banana and mtx on before using it on their now very popular skate banana.
here's a shot of an old sims that was chopped down for a powskate sub.
fun stuff. |

Clarke Hurlbut

yea they're really fun and pretty simple to get dialed in. what's tricky though is finding somewhere to ride. not all resorts give them chairlift access, it ususally just involves meeting with skipatrol and showing that you can get on and off the lifts easily then your in, but someplaces just flat out say no way. Most resorts that allow snoskating let you ride with the board on your lap then to get off the chair you just drop the board on the ground and get on, they don't like you running off the chair and post holeing the ramp. our resort though goes one step further and requires the board to be strapped to your foot for the chair ride up, then we unstrap our boards and ride down???? something about insurance anyways beats hiking. |

the top three finishers at shutupandsnowskate took home the snowskate obamas. Clarke hurlbut got third and when he walked by me I wispered, "how much for the obama?" 100 bucks later and it was mine. I had intentionally packed a little coin so I could bribe the winners out of their boards which for this comp are always custom stuff that Shag at lib tech makes off hours. Clarke rides for lib so I figured he be willing to take home a cash prize instead. |
