Jack called us a few days ago to let us know that he was gonna run for governor of California. He said he was very serious and would take the job if he won. He may wind up getting marginalized in the media, yet it will be fun to see how much of the "fuck it" vote he gets.

Here is the link to what was reported on MTV.com

Subject: Fwd: friends of Jack Grisham for Governor

It's pretty funny that Jack is running and I see it as merely a publicity
stunt, but when you realize that there may be over 200 people on the
ballot, the vote could be so diluted that as little as 5% of the vote could
win the governors office! So, actually, he may really have a chance. Then
what would he do!?!?

>Dear Friends,
>
>I'm sorry to abuse your mail box, but feel this is important enough to bring
>to your attention.
>
>Jack Grisham is running for Governor and he needs your help.
>
>I realize some of you wonder if he is a serious candidate. Well, he is.
>
>You, as a member of the music community can likely relate to him on the
>level of which he has dedicated his life to performing and entertaining, as
>well as influencing so many musicians who have come after him.
>
>But thats not all. Jack is speaking out on issues that affect us outside of
>music.
>
>He wants to fill the void of healthcare to those of us who arent poor
>enough to get state assisted healthcare, but cant afford our own. Weve
>talked about different ways of doing that. Like supporting legislation that
>puts all who need it on the same health plan so that we can get real low
>rates like large companies, or adding a special small tax to fast food to
>cover the costs of health care as well as promoting healthy eating and
>cutting down obesity. Were going to do whatever we can that makes the most
>sense for everyone.
>
>Hes talking about issues that affect us all, like supporting immigrants, a
>womans right to choose, fighting discrimination, legalizing and taxing
>marijuana, alternative sentencing for non-violent offenders, strengthening
>schools, volunteerism and more.
>
>This campaign has only begun and its growing and evolving.
>
>We ask you to become involved.
>
>Of course wed love for you to pledge money, but more importantly wed love
>to use your resources. If you could use your mailing lists to spread the
>word or assist with a banner on your website, talk about Jack when and where
>you can and any other way you can help. If you have a radio show or know of
>one that Jack can speak on, let us know. If you can arrange for Jack to
>speak somewhere near you or be interviewed for a local newspaper or website,
>let us know. Your help and support might make the difference.
>
>With Jack Grisham youll have one of your own in Sacramento, and you can be
>involved. YOU can make a difference. Were here to listen to your concerns
>and wishes. Feel free to contact us with any questions or ideas.
>
>Please pass the word any way you can and encourage others to do the same.
>
>This will be a true grass roots campaign.

>Thank you,

Get a better job. Paying for my own insurance sucks. But I do it anyway. I'm sick and tired of hearing what the government can do for our legions of bad decision makers in life.

The only way to make this a reality is to raise taxes. No way!

Like...duhhh...on my part, YES, the show is this Sunday October 5th.

Yea, the 15 minute sets are a bit short, yet it's the only way to blast through 11 bands, should still be a killer show.

Not sure what happened, but Jack did not win?
He finished 37th out of 100 candidates.
Jack promised that we could drain the pool at the governors mansion if he won, so we are seriously bummed that a sess in that pool will not go down.

Anyhow here is a link to see what happened at the benefit show on Sunday
