i had a dude burn my screens for me this week, and he's pretty much screwed me, ok he's totally screwed me.

one set is completely wrong and the other he put a reg mark right into the design.

so now i have this very faint reg mark right in the bottom of my piece, i don't have time to reburn them as i'm on a tight schedule and the guy is being a real jerk about the whole thing.

can i go in with some screen filler and just paint those lines in? i know i can just mask it with tape, but i'm afraid that after a few passes that those little bits of tape will starting moving around. its a very small area, but important that i get it out of there.

so if i use the speedball filler on top of his exposed emulsion will there be any problems, i figured i could just use a small brush and paint that area in.

any help would be greatly appreciated. and if anyone wants to put a brick through this hacks window, please be by guest.

tape on both sides of the screen, or use some other emulsion...
and set it in the sun.

Exactly, also , make sure you do it on the emulsion side. It may sound like a no brainer, but I've seen people fill from the inside, and get pissed when their pulls get compromised, or they scrape off the filler with a stiff squeegee.

yeah you can put emulsion over emulsion no problem...
just put it where you need it.
let it dry in a dark place with a fan for about an hour.
and then take the screen outside for a few minutes so it can fully cure

word up!!!! this is a huge help!!!

thanks for the tips guys, the dudes employees made good on my other screens and reburned them, but with this silly reg mark thing, there just isn't time to reburn with my deadline.

on the screens that were burned incorrectly, homeboy tilted the artwork 45 degrees on the screen, so the whole thing is crooked, even his employees think he's a dumbass, he did it because HE thought thats how it should look, didn't call me, didn't ask, just did what he wanted and not what I (the customer) wanted, AND he put a reg mark in the middle of my artwork!!, how can stupid people operate a business?

It's a good thing you said "operate" and not "manage", because the answer to the latter is they can't. One can "operate" for years before the mismanagement finally bites them in the ass...

Yup, definitely wandering into the 'tard territory with that one.

BTW, since you opted for the regigstration marks, one suggestion is to have them put two on, at the farthest possible points from one another (i.e. top left & bottom right), that way you will capture even the slightest tips in the screen.

My personal favorite similar incident to your tipped artwork was when the Printing house that did our Installation CD's burned their screens (4 color process), they tipped all the halftone screens at 45 degrees instead of 30 degrees.

The disc, which had a woman's face on it, ended up with a moire pattern between the Yellow and Magenta, making it look like she had smallpox, and the Cyan and Black clumping into 1/2" dots over the surface. 5000 units shipped with that....

...only eclipsed by the fact that the User's Guide had a "Customer Service phone number" that was in fact a Sex Chat number.

True story....

I tend to use emulsion unless I have some real filler around. I've used acrylic paint also.
