NEED HELP WITH PRESS

ok i went to the DIY Skate site and looked up how to make a press and all that im juss wondering instead of using meatl for the frame is the anyway to use wood like 4x4 juss let me know thanks

thanks man what kind of wood is that or did u build them as boxes do you have a layout for how to build it

use the plans on diyskate.com and just substitute wood instead medal.

Damn Hero thanks for the plug.

The wood is a structural subflooring material called Advantac. I use it to make engineered "I-beams" I build a great deal of my stuff from this material.
This press frame is set up to use 5" diameter firehose as air bladders to provide the pressing power. Works very well!! The first press I made used a 20ton bottle jack for the pressure. It worked ok but the single press point of the jack eventually broke the frame and yieled it useless after only 100 presses. The one in the picture is going strong at 200 plus presses this year so far. It is definatly helpful to have two molds running at a time.

I have need to build a few more of these soon. I'll post some pics when I can
