Ok
I'm from Malaysia as many of you aware.
Need assitant on this matter.
I was wondering what sort of dye or paint that i should used to do a board graffic? I'm thinking of doin it using a silk screen...so if anyone can help would be appreciated.
Maybe the brand name of the DYE..was it the same thing that was used on most skateboard graffic today?
I have 2 blank boards and i'm gonna put some graffics there for testing. Thanx

The product you're looking for is going to be called an Ink, so starting there might make it easier... 
Yes, Nazdar is GOOD stuff. Many different varieties, you're looking for a waterproof Enamel that's intended to go on wood, check out Nazdar's site, and get the Series #'s of the different Ink Lines that meet that need.
Hunt-Speedball products are probably easier to come by, as they are sold in Arts and Craft stores, will be smaller quantities, and are less expensive than a quart of the Premium grade Nazdar stuff.
You might go poke your nose into a local Trade School, College or University and see if you can find their printing department (think Printing, not Art). A lot of times you can get permission to use peoples facilities just by striking up a conversation and expressing interest (I got access to a forge and a Mill once using this technique...

also i 've found they have a distributor in Singapore...might wanna give them a call or e-mail first ..perhaps they sell it here in Malaysia

I bet they do, Nazdar is the 800 pound Gorilla in the Printing Industry, and yes, that's the stuff you want.
Laqcuer Thinner to clean up (do this outdoors only), but try to use Nazdar's products to adjust the drying time or thickness. Paint thinner just breaks down it's ability to stick and stay put.
Also keep your eyes out for a Medium that will "gel" your ink. It makes working with complex shapes and "extra hassle" jobs easier, as the ink doesn't flow (and drip), it's more like a solid form that liquifies with squeegee pressure.
Think of the liquid hand sanitizer, it's a gel until you squish it, then it turns into a liquid, same effect on the ink, good stuff to play with. |
