I always felt like a little Iron Chef went a long way.
I also hate Giada. I don't even think she's particularly attractive. Certainly not hideous, but not hot either. No redeeming qualities or justification for a television show in my opinion. The pronunciation thing gets me too.
Very tired of Rachael Ray. The most interesting aspect of her show(s) is predicting which form she'll be taking for any given episode. Skinny? Porky? Topheavy? Bottomheavy? Wrinkled? Botoxed? Human? Visitor?
I suspect that Paula Deen would be great in the sack.....with the lights off. Same goes for Ina Garten. I'm not certain whether Paula's boys are fruitcake experts or whether they're just a rarefied breed of Southern douchebag. The toasting/reflection portion of their airtime is cloying. 100% agreement on The Elusive Jeffrey. If I had to wager, I'd guess that his cake is fruitier than a Deen boy's.
Ace of Cakes is Monster Biker Garage Tattoo Choppers for hipsters seeking an extreme outsider niche to increase hip points. Total garbage. I'm convinced that there is only one episode of that program.
Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello enrages me. That guy is such a douchebag and so are all his friends. I bet that 80% of them drive X5s or Lexus SCs and think that Sideways was the greatest movie ever. Nice sweater, Trent.
Nigella is a goddess in every dimension, and Ingrid is nothing to sneeze at, although her recipes are pretty lame (and, at least to me, often not altogether Miamian.)
Alton needs to be given the keys to the network. He can do no wrong.
Just Cook This! With Sam the Cooking Guy on Discovery Health is a fun show. He's a total spaz, and reminds me a bit of Alton with less science and more dork.

I met Alton at a food & wine festival. He's just like he is on the box. Nice guy, especially considering all the people yanking on him. |

Giada is creepy because of her giant head and tiny T-Rex arms.
Emeril can actually cook, regardless of his dumbass catchphrase show.
Plus, regardless of his vices (what cook doesn't have them?) he truly cares about his employees. But, Essence is the superior show for sure.
Bourdain is the man. THE man.
Paula Dean USED to be a good watch. She bought into her hype and now is just a puppet of most of my stereotypical Aunts from the same region.
Ace of Cakes makes me angry.
Guy's Big Bite makes me homicidal. I will punch him in public.
Bobby Flay loses 95% of his "Throwdowns". Fuck that guy. The douchebag made a Muffaletta with mayo for fucks sake. I LOVE mayo, but, some recipes need not be messed with AT ALL!
Mario Batali is fucking rad. I met him on the street in NYC and he had no ego and steered us in the right direction for some decent eats.l Nice fucking guy. |

I caught a few episodes of Jamie at Home. I like the way he uses fresh produce. pretty rad. did i ever tell you i saw emeril, wasted at the beverly hills hotel bar? 100% agree about Giada, I can't stand her/gianthead/mouth/pronouncing mutzerrellllaaaa! Also, as OCD as this is, when she says "crust" or any hard "c" words with a following "r", it's like scraping chalk on a blackboard to me. |

this thread is hilarious..
anyway.. the old Iron Chef was way better. i miss the dubbed in english when the pretty young japanese girl says "I like the way it feels in my mouth"
i heard paula deen was from like boston or something and the whole southern fried bit is an act.
whenever that giada chick is on i never notice she's cooking. i'm kinda hypnotized by her for some reason. like a driving by a car accident.
Alton is THE MAN.. i agree, let him run shop.
Ace of Cakes... while i was rooting for him in the cake challenge I knew they'd spin him off even if he didnt win.
This bugs me on his show and in most of the cake shows.. when they make a whole sculpture out of styrafoam or chicken wire, put frosting on it and then call it a "cake". that pisses me off.
Bourdain is pretty rad.. i was surprised to see him on the Food network. His show on the travel channel is cool already.
I'm becoming a fan of Chef Ramsey. and that show where he goes to restaurants and tells the owner he's a pussy and his shit sucks. |

Alton Brown needs a 2 hour block every night. I sat next to him on a flight back to Atlanta from Dallas and he's a super nice dude. He knows his shit. His book is really great too.
Anthony Bourdain has lost his edge. I liked his Cook's Tour stuff and the first season of No Reservations. He's gone soft. Had a kid, quit smoking, etc.. I like his books a lot more. As an executive chef he does a great job, the meal I had at his restaurant was one of the best I've ever eaten.
I went to a reading and book signing of his a couple months ago. When I got up to him in the signing line, he took a look at me (stupid psychobilly haircut, X jacket, etc.) and my friend Liz (more of the same) and said "Glad to see I still have some street cred left." |

Mario's dad's place is one of the only things I'll miss about Seattle - Salumis. Best place around and was under the radar.
Bourdain is still a good watch.
Same for cool guy dickhead...actually had hecklers when he came through ballard for some chili. |

Bobby Flay was invited to be a guest chef on a riverboat in WV by a friends girlfriend. He said for 400 g's I will do it.
I am surprised no one has mentioned Rachel Ray. I would like to butter her biscuits! She is a little annoying, but what chick isn't? My dad and brother can't stand her, but I wanna give her some EVOO....
