Billboard vinyl.
Most billboards are covered with a ginormous piece of this fiber reinforced vinyl fabric. Tough and waterproof, with doubled up edges with holes for tie-downs. My department puts up dozens a month, and I got a close look at one, and it was love. Got one today, it's great.
Check with your local billboard company to see if they'll flow you one. |

I was looking at the plastic that farmers use to wrap hay for their cattle. (not sure if they do this everywhere, but up here farmers make these huge white tubes of plastic filled with haylage (hay that ferments inside) instead of using a silo. The stuff is thick and flexible, must be at least 20 ft wide in a sheet and as long as you want it to be. Haven't tried it yet, but have a farmer that is willing to try to keep a bunch of it in decent shape for me. The stuff has to be totally waterproof or it wouldn't work ... |
