if some of you recall groton was closed earlier this year for too much graffiti and vandalism. well we got all the graffiti out. but this past weekend was a madhouse at groton. kids galore! on sunday night i was there until about 7 and it wasnt a big problem with things. now i go ther after school today and a sign on the gate says "closed due to vandalism until further notice. it didnt look that trashed and there was no new graffiti. i talked with one of the town guys that works with the park alot and we're probably gonna have to start cracking down on kids. we're most likely not gonna let the idiot groups of local gangsters walk in and do as they please like usual. we're gonna say that if you're with somebody than you can stay but otherwise get out. and there might be a few of us that are going to have to "moniter" the park and make sure people pick up their shit. but yeah, closed until further notice. BULLSHIT! |

The older guys should be regulating anyway. It's up to us old bastards to be shepherds of the parks after they are built. |

well groton is slighty reopening...the gates are still locked, but you can hop the fence. as long as you have a skateboard with you or you're with someone skating, you're perfectly fine. the cops come by every now and then just to see whos there and make sure people that shouldnt be there arent there...so whoever is down for a session in groton, head on down. |

see my Benicia Closed thread in Hot Disco.
The Martinez park is open, no fence and its thrashed.. but.. you can skate it if the sun is up. just bring a broom.
This fenced in bullshit is new to me and seemed like a good idea except for:
- the fact that it opens at 9:00am.
-Bikes ignore the "no bikes except for tues/thurs" rule
- the fence can easily be hopped (to graffiti during the hours its closed and no one is there)
i hate lame taggers but seriously, spraypainted crete is still skateable. |
