Gourmet dinner accomplished tonight!!!

I made it w/ filet mignon instead of venison and it was friggin' awesome. Probably one of my better performances in the kitchen--I figured you'd be into it.

Cooled the beef like he cooked the venison, although I just laid foil over it while it was roasting. Basted it w/ butter after searing (decadent). I cooked it to a perfect medium rare.

The sauce complemented the beef so well, I couldn't believe it. Had it w/ garlic mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus.

So yes, I'm impressed w/ myself at the moment. My wife was pretty pleased, too.
