The distributors are great. I can't recommend South Shore or Eastern enough. They have a diverse enough inventory between the two to handle most of your basic inventory needs. Until it comes to shoes. Unless you only want to carry Duffs and Deklines then you will have to work on getting some of the big name accounts direct. And I do mean work...it's notoriously difficult to land the shoe accounts. The added bonus is that when you do land these accounts, it (in theory) effectively locks out any competition for the same brand, keeping anyone in a certain area of your shop from getting the same product. The flip side is if you have another shop in your area that already carries shoes. Then, well........

being in michigan, I can get stuff from AWH in two days ground shipping. That's a plus for them!

Smoothill is awesome too. Their customer service is the best. But their selection is smaller. And no online ordering.

our local suppliers are awsome up here in Canada. they are all located in Toronto so i just go in and have no shipping at all for most hardgoods.

the only thing i hate is some limited edition boards only come in small quantities, and if your not on point, you miss out.

guess US gets first dibs on the hottest decks.

besides that we have no need to go direct or to another supplier for anything.

wanna support our suppliers anyway. without them we would have to get sutff shippied from 20 different places cross boarder.

that would suck.
