Printing on wheels?

If I built a machine (not going to, just saying), I'd use a indexing system were the wheel never moves until all the colors are done and the plates can be moved and indexed on a set spot to ensure proper alignment on a consistent basis.
Best bet for info is what the above people mentioned and get the info from the experienced source to lessen any problems ($$$) in the future. I never messed with a pad printer, so I have no experience at all, just talking bs...
