I was just making a pizza for dinner. Got me thinking about pizzas I've loved. My all time favorite was from a local restaurant here in Temple, TX. in the early to mid 80s.
It was called Padington's Pizza. The guys that owned/ran the place came from Oregon. They had told us there was a Padington's there that they had bought the recipes/theme from etc.
On a whim tonight I did a search on Padington's...sure enough I found it.

The menu looks the same. Same items we used to serve etc. Like a time machine for me.
I'm going to call the owner tomorrow and see if he'll send me a pizza to Texas. I am not kidding.
Any one ever eat at one of these in Salem? Like it or not? Any insiders?

Hey dude,
I live in Salem and eat at Paddingtons all the time. They were recently voted the best pizza in town. There is one by my house and one by my girlfriends house.
The sauce is awesome. |

| Swear to GOB I'm gonna call 'em tomorrow. I've been staring at the pdf of the menu...I used to make most all those pizzas in my high school years...I gotta eat one again. |

I talked to the owner today...told him my story...I'm always such a retard with time zones...I called at 2 my time, 12 noon his time...lunch rush...he was stoked but busy...said to call him tomorrow IN THE MORNING (9:00 for him 11:00 for me)...but LONG story short....
HE WILL SHIP ME A PIZZA!!!!!!!
This is like finding a Red Zorlac Gibson at a garage sale for $1.50.
I may touch myself in an impure manner.
Oh...and my wife is stoked too! |
