My printshop just got robbed. 
I came into work today and the place was totalled, the graphics department is gone, they trashed 3 orders about to go out the door. Stole the CD players, smashed the spot cleaning gun, took the scales, turned all the work tables over, pulled all the shelving off the wall, and totalled our film inventory. On the upside, my life became a 3 hour version of CSI as the police used lights and took DNA fingerprints and fibers as well as footprints. Just in case your day was going badly, you could be me. Might be time for that firearms licence. |

| I would be suprised if it was in house, but finger prints will tell. We just moved into a larger space next door and BAM. Thankfully we use laptops so no computers were taken and they didn't take the big inkjet, or the fax machine or the lazer printers. In reality it's probably the crack head's in the neighbourhood. A guy recently got his truck stolen, and most of what was taken was quick sell stuff. Probably drug related, the police said that if it was a "I want revenge on you" type deal they would have slashed screen, poured out ink and done things that would have made it difficult to continue business etc . . . the only 100% essential piece that needs replacing is the scale. Everything else is just a clean up, re organize, new locks, cameras, possibly a Honduran hit squad to provide some muscle. |

| they broke in again last night and made off with the last of my personal property, they didn't steal any business stuff (that god) but they stole about another $3000 from me. This time they had a team of guys because they physically cut through my steel door, then cut through the plate steel I had over the door, and then cracked both the deadbolts. Then the broke into 7 more shops in the same building. It's not any of my guys because I was with them when it happened. The police don't care, you get robbed once, they send CSI, you get robbed again the next day by the same people and the cops stay for 5 minutes and then leave. |

shitting hell!!! that's terrible mate. i think you ought to think about leaving too man. they seem pretty keane on getting everthing you own. I'm sure you can borrow a bit of space from anotherm printer 'till you get back on your feet. I'd offer, but i'm sereral hundred miles away. Good luck dude.

well, I have heavy duty steel boxes welded over my locks (beiruit boxes the locksmith called them), a security system, we are all armed to the teeth (knives, bear spray, metal pipes etc . . ) I have put a lot of pressure on the police so there's a hope that something will happen. Otherwise we look into moving the shop. Problem being finding at least 2000 square feet, having it all prepped and be able to move an entire shop (which we have just managed to get setup, 20 days late) overnight so we don't interrupt our printing schedual, it's gonna take weeks to make up the week of lost production that we lost after getting robbed.
I spent a lot of my time in the past volunteering and raising money to have programs to help the disadvantaged and the drug-addicted and so forth; only to be robbed by the same demographic. But after this, the white trash pieces of shit in my town will not get anything from me again, other then getting backed over by my chevy. The 200 meals we donate to the homeless shelter . . gone, money the needle exchange, gone. Next time some crack addict passes out on my apatment's lawn, I'mm breaking legs and so forth. Nothing makes me more angry then those that take vengence on those trying to make it in this world. |
