Hi everyone
I have a question for anyone who has ever built a screen for printing decks.
I wanted to ask what kind of material do you guys use for building the screens and how thick is it. I've built one using 0,8 inches thick MDF. I still havent printed anything with it, but I cant help to feel that it's just too thin and that the MDF is going to warp or something after a couple washes. Can someone give some hints on this? Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers

By 2x8 you mean 2 inches by 8 inches ??... Sorry, I always end up with some confusion when converting measures to the metric system... I still havent figured out the difference between ' and " for example... : P

' = feet
" = inches

A 2x8 is 2" X 8" X whatever length.
Technically it's 1.5" X 7.5" but, whatever....

Thanx. Those were the measures I had figured out, It just seemed too thick (Its thicker than my alluminum frames) so I started thinking I'd done something wrong with the calculations. In all the photos I've seen of skateboard screens they look quite thin in comparison. Thanks again! It's back to the woodshop now...

you can get the whole curve of the board using only a 2x4 (2"x4") angle the end peices to match the curve and use a router to cut a grove all the way around for the spline (if your doing it that way) you could also just staple it, its realy simple, ill try to post pics soon,
