I know that the emoltion needs to dry in a dark room but what is the minimum time for it to dry . I usually let it dry overnight but this can be a problem because of work and all. Please let me know any info! |

I coat screens, put them infront of a fan and somtimes expose them in about a half hour. if its dry , its dry. a half hour is pushin' it a bit but it dosent need to sit for any length of time. |

I coat mine, stick them in a box and let them dry over night, and burn them the next day |

I coat mine, leave set drying print side down with 2 fand and a dehumidifier
ready to burn in about 30 minutes using qx-1
a new name for an old ulano product
have yet to have a mis burn, even with highg end half tones, and it costa about 50.00 a gallon, half the price of what I used to use... |

Defstar, did you use to use QTX? I got sent a couple of quarts of QX-1 as a sample from a company up here. I haven't had any time to test it out, but if you switched from QTX what changed as far as times and such |

no I used qfx....
more expensive then qtx and I had better luck with it for solvents
as for time the info that came with it listed the burn time as being almost 25% short then with qfx
I use 2 500 watt (home depot 10.00 special) halogens, and was getting 8 minute burns with qfx, and I'm getting 7 with qx-1 and 6 for halftones
I have not had a single bad screen yet with it.... |

cool. I am planning to switch, we do so many screens that the cost isn't really the issue (we probably get 120 screens out of a gallon) but I hear that the qx1 has better resistance to waterbased and solvents . . . |

we get about the same amount of screens per gallon, but if you go from emulsion costs being a dollar a screen to 50 cents....
you bottom line will look a lot better
and like I said it works fine with solvents, I do about 15 sticker jobs a week using gv series inks and 9700 and it delivers great half tones
I don't do any water based yet so I can't comment on those |
