I ride Indys... mmmm kay.

As the Stage 9s go, 169's are my favorite. I ride them on 10" decks with offset wheels (BDS Shogos or Dubs... Powell-Peralta Mini Cubics...)

I ride Indy 215s on my 12" deck.

I recently picked up an 11" pig and plan to mount it with Powell Peralta Mini Cubics. Problem is, the Indy 169s are a little narrow and the 215s are a bit wide.

I noticed that Tracker 184s have 10.75" axels... but I've never ridden Trackers.

How are they, relative to Indys, as far as turniness, hanger strength, overall durability?

I may have to jump the Indy ship, but I will only do so if I have some good input on the alternatives.

Thanks in advance

184 Darts are 184mm wide. 215s are 183mm wide.

So if you think you're getting some magical in-between width with 184s, you're not. Just an honest name associated with the width.

As far as everthing else: Trackers are more than an ounce lighter than an equivalent width Indy. I've never broken a Tracker hanger or baseplate. I've broken dozens of Indy baseplates. I think Tracker quality is better than Indy's. As far as the turn, I believe the perception that Trackers don't turn relates to some trucks produced 20 years ago.

Are you referring to hanger width? 184mm is 7.244 inches.
Indy 215s have a 10" axel, and I've seen Tracker 184s specs touting a 9.75" axel. I guess the hangers could be almost the same width, with the Indys having an extra .25" of axel.

As to the old 'Trackers don't turn' meme, I think I read where Rick Blackhart said his inspiration for designing the first Indys was that the only trucks out there were "Bennett and Tracker... one broke and one didn't turn..." That would have been circa 1978. I don't think Tracker would have survived this long if their trucks didn't turn.

I've just always been an Indy rider. Fear of change, you know.

Put some softer bushings in the Trackers, and they'll be fine. If you find they're not "turny" enough, wedge the front truck.

I have the new Tracker Staab darts and they turn fine.(with bones bushings)
BUT, the axle slips and I hate it.

New tracker six-tracks have an extra 5 degrees of lean...not enough. Dart 184's (tracker) and indy 215's both turn horribly but I'd give the Darts the nod.

Bust out your ruler again. The 169's with your Shogo's should be perfect on a 11" deck.

I rode Friend of Wolfgang's board yesterday with Tracker 6 tracks on it. I don't know what he had for bushings but that thing turned like mad. I tried repeatedly to steal his line in the clover but couldn't get a sharp enough turn with my 169's. Thinking my Bones Hard bushings are too hard as the nut was loosened off but still not loose enough.
Reeally surprised me how well FOW's Trackers turned. Guy was carving like crazy and 'wamping' ledges too.
Either brand can be made to turn well with good bushings and any truck can break.
Hey FOW, when ya getting that Tracker tatoo?
Ronin: get yourself to Calgary, there's a Full Pipe and Clover calling your name!
