Didnt think that was the first miller...
Nice deck - not too rare tho. $150ish?

Yeah, I think that's the third one. There's the one with his name on the bottle cap thingy, then the one with the retangles, with half of someone's face inside and then the lizard. Still a nice deck. |

on AOS the two 1984 lizard boards are the first Miller boards shown on any company, is AOS wrong, are there earlier miller boards than 1984?
i would have thought that a 1984 G&S miller in mint condition would be quite sought after. |

Well, you'd be wrong then...
AOS is a very good place to start your hunt for info, but its not the fountain of all knowledge..... (and thats not a dig at AOS - its a very difficult job)
Miller decks with blender or miller graphics are more sought after - particularly the dog.

Don't think the date on AoS is right, but then again what do I know about Chris Miller decks? Great skater, but not my fave boards. |

Checked the 'archives'.....
1984
Miller was riding a foil tail, and also a prototype deck.
Billy Ruff, Lien Blender, Doug Saladino and Jim Gray were the vert pro's (Gator had just left for Vision) Danny Webster & Chris Miller were AM's.
1985
Miller turns pro and hangs up big time in the infamous Upland contest... (get the video and try and watch it.... ugh...)
Millers first pro deck is released - its the 'big foot' graphic and diagonal lines (pig shape with mild sidecut) one thats was on egay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...29&category=16263
1986
Same 'big foot' graphic plus this 'new wave' version:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...74&category=16263
1987 & 1988
'Lizard & skull' full size & 'lizard mini' (the one that you now have) released
Hope youre reading this AOS...... time to update those pages (and grab the pics from egay while you can......)
So the deck you have is the 4th Chris Millar Pro model from 1987/88.

I think that's right. The big foot one is the one I was thinking of when I said "bottle cap thingy". I hadn't seen one in a while and I remembered his name and then some morphing shape. In my head, I think it reminded me of recycling. |
