Kicking the Habit
The board I lusted over when I was a lad was the Sims Taperkick -- Doug DeMontmorency pro model, a 10" pig. After seeing and riding a few Taperkicks at Skatopia's Museum of Skateboard History in April, I really got the itch for one of these beauties once again.
A Little Bird Told Me To Skin You ALIVE!
Danny at Factory 13 is pushing his Thrush model a beauty with hardwood stringers on the bottom, looking much like the Taperkicks I saw in my youth. I decided I needed to fulfill that decades-old dream and have him build a TaperClone for me.
Now, being that I'm at least a foot taller and 75 lbs heavier than I was at 12... and my balance is not nearly as good... I decided to stretch the Doug D. model out a few inches. The result is a sweet classic shape That's going to be a perfect cruiser and oldschool park board.

This board will span 3 generations SK8ology -- a full-custom F13 deck with exotic hardwood stringers, inspired by a 70's classic; turns provided by 80's vintage Tracker Aggros; rolling on neo-retro ABEC-11 NSchoolz.
Check out the mock-ups...
Oh, yeah... I almost forgot... this is going on the tail!

If you're going to get one from F13 I might want to jump on the bandwagon. Have you placed an order w/Danny yet? |

Bill -- we're still working on it; I just mailed the "Paperkick" template on Saturday. I'll see if we can get a bro deal. Usually when I do a multiple order, I try to go for 5.
I'll see what kind of deal we can get with 2... unless we have any other takers??? |

Do you have any idea how what financial ball park we'd be in? I need something to slap my G&S trucks on. |

That depends on the number of bros who get in on the deal. I've done 2 of these deals with F13 in the past, and the final price ended up saving everyone a few $$ compared to custom.
These won't be cheap, though... stock price on the Thrush is $95, but the Dougie is longer and will have the more expensive square cut wells. |
