The way I understand it is that it is not illegal to have decks unlabelled with country of origin. Only complete skateboards mush be labelled, not the individual components.
As far as the Acme ads go, IIRC, it was a cartoon of two guys dressed up in Flameboy and Wet Willy-like costumes with the heads off. Might have been some boards like this too. |

isnt there also a loophole that allows them to choose to sticker origin versus made in.....and a further loophole that stipulates as long as a small percentage of the goods are handled on US soil, or that if hte corporation resides primarily in the US and does the majority of it's business in the US....... that it can be fairly and legally labeled as MADE IN USA?
I think there is.
blind, world, darkstar, enjoi, powell, element, black label are all showing stickers or woodmarkings.
and from experience....those blind decks are not that bad. honestly. |

Most Black Label (and all Red Cross/Kross/Emergency) decks are made in the US -- only the price point decks are done off-shore. Same with Powell.
To be fair, Blind and World decks are made in both China and California. |

yeah...i see the ones labeled prime wood shop. i guess those new 8 ply carbon / epoxy hybrids are poppy as hell and can hold some big weight.
not sure if ill try one out though since they dont make an 8" with a 14.5" wheelbase, 6.5" tail, 7" nose yet.
hey if youre reading this...hint hint hint |

outlets.
Prime does not make any decks for Dwindle (World/Blind/enjoi/Darkstar/Almost). Not a one.
If there are decks out there labeled as being produced by Prime, please snap a photo of it. I haven't come across one - If they are out there we would like to know.
I think the ad in question was in a TWS - when Acme was running the odd shaped ads in the Letters section. The add called in to question the originality of the Wet Willy and Flame Boy characters - claiming that Marc McKee and World basically ripped them off from existing (although non skate) companies.
The Simon Woodstock ad, I think was by far the worst. Devil Man bending over a character of Rocco... and that one ran in Big Brother! Ouch. |

Label and Red Cross/Kross/Emergency decks are made at PS. Stix in Costa Mesa. The Red Cross/Kross/Emergency decks are stamped on the top of the deck over the rear truck: Made In The U.S.A. (has something else, but it has grip tape over it now and I can't recall).
Dwindle has wood shops in both China and California.
There was something in a recent TWSBiz article that made me think PS Stix and Dwindle might be doing a joint venture on something. I'll have to ask Schmitt about that.
