Trial and error from all those guys in the 70's drilling (And misdrilling..) their own decks?

By definition, Wheel base is the distance between the axis of front and rear wheels.
But apparently on skateboards it's a different measurement criteria.
Aside from the above, I'm curious as to 'why'? |

Different trucks put the axle in different places relative to the truck's baseplate. So using the CL of the inner bolt holes is the most standard way to measure wheelbase. |
