Is there any ink removers you can buy at a walmart or something? I do not want to remove my emulsion, I have emulsion remover, degreaser (which smells like simplegreen but came in an unmarked bottle), but no ink remover.
I want to remove the ink from the screen and store the design for later.
If anyone with experience knows of good ink removers that do not effect the emulsion, please list some. Also, a degreaser that can safely be used with a silk screen would be nice as well.
Thanks ahead of time. |

It depends what kind of ink you're using. If using Plastisol, or solvent based inks, you can use Varsol or most any type of solvent. The shop I work at uses some sort of eviro screen wash that seems to work quite well. Water based ink obviously uses water to clean. None of these should effect the emulsion in your screen.
I might add that if you are using a pressure washer with a good amount of psi to clean your screens, you don't need to use degreaser. |

The ink I have is oil based, what is the difference between the two when making shirts?
Anyone have any suggestions on where I can get the ink cleaner? |

I use a simple press wash from cci corp that i get from my distributor
it works well, and wont degrade the emulsion...
also it's not too toxic |

varsol would work for your oil based, but you might be better off looking for a screen wash thats less toxic (like Steve said). |

Any suggestions on where to look? I can't find any screen equipment shops or craft shops with equipment here. Internet, chain store? |
