I've done stencil stuff before (check the website, the mutiny full letters deck, and the crimson skull deck are both stencils). The images dont come out as sharp. It works, I used some sticky foam sheets from wal-mart(fifty cents a sheet), and rubber cement since i know that can wipe off easily, but i wasnt satisfied with the results. I'm also a perfection freak, so that could tie in with it. As far as stencils go though, they didnt turn out bad. Go to www.mutinypromotions.com, and look at the merch page. The full letter mutiny board, and the crimson skull graphic were stencils...the others were silkscreened. thanks.

I make also the cut stickers, i never really considered doing a method like that, it means one sticker one board though, which could work out expensive in the long run, unless you could hold a stencil against the board, spray then remove the stencil, we have a lazer machine that cuts the stickers in seconds, anydesign.

Its pretty cool.

I reckon scanning a sticker/graphic. then printing out several copies(onto A4 or whatever size, sticker paper), cutting out the different colours (to make stencils for each colour) and then spraying one at a time.

perhaps before spraying the deck it may be good to sand the deck lightly to remove the sealing layer. thus when spraying the paint will soak into the wood. then after spraying all colours add a layer of sealant to keep the moisture in the wood and also to even out the raised edges of the stenciling.

First off I would like to say...happy forum birthday altomic!

Second...good idea altomic but that technique would be a bitch. Cutting out each design by hand.....not fun. Its true this idea could rack up some bucks depending on the price of the decals.

Third....Another idea would be a big pad printer with a pad shaped like the bottom of a deck. Only problem is the ink plate with the design would probable have to be bent....and huge. It would prob cost alot to set up. Im sure a smaller pad printing setup would work. Something about the size of the tail maybe.

Have a nice day....make something of it.

Has anyone tried building theyre own screen??? I made an attemp at it but it didnt work, ive never really seen a good picture of one before so i wasnt sure what to do but yeah. I've been able to make some smaller designs between the trucks from my home made stuff. I shoudl have some pics soon to. I've been using just some glossy acrylic paint from walmart and it the color and quality seems pretty much as good as normal decks.

I still have a hard time getting my head wrapped around the idea of the "bent screen". I've seen a couple of pics before, but they didn't help me. I work with flat screens all day long (tshirts) and I have printed decks with flats (with varying results), but I'd love foe someone to show me exactly what's up with the bend screen. How does the mesh stay tight? How do you expose the emulsion?

So many questions.

Thats rad, that shoudl hopefully help alot, i never thought of making the screen extra wide, but now that makes sense, so it can shape over the board better. Thanks, but just in case, where did you get yours? like if i want to get one.
