Its not exactally screen printing but its mfg stuff.
First off I found a pic that could help some people when routing decks. Its not that great but it might give you some ideas.
I also found some links about construction and such.
This link shows you different board constructions and tells you about them.

This place is cool, this dude did a bunch of tests to a bunch of decks from different companies. Might help you find a good manufacturer.

Thanks man, I am always interested in stuff like that. I am going to include a woodshop link to my web site. It will show all of the processes I use to make the best decks anywhere. I will be launching the web site very soon. I hope that it will answer alot of questions people have about real ways to make skateboards. The truth is that skill can replace expensive tools any day, I have h.a.m. based routers in my shop-(human aided milling). I have always looked for the other way of doing things. Keep experimenting with new things everyone. |

Right on. That would be a big help to alot of people. I would love to press my own decks just for fun but I think I would be overwhelmed by the whole process and I dont have bandsaws and such at my disposal. Its still interesting to know how it all goes down and I love to see pictures of the process...its like porn.
Do you screen also? I've seen some things about that but I would love to get more details on making the screen frame, inks or paints, and I really wonder how you do a run of deck without the paint drying in the screen.
I'll post if I find any more cool stuff. |

I just got a router for rounding the sides of my decks. Haven't put it to a production test yet but soon. Rounding edges by hand suuuuucks! |

Hey thrashcan, if you're having problems with ink drying in the screen, you should just flood the screen after doing a print. Flooding is basically just pushing a light coat of ink over the screen. I used to have the same problem with ink drying, but since I've been flooding the screens, I have had no problems at all. Hope that helps ya out a bit. |

Well I havnt had that problem yet since I havnt screened much. But I suspected it could be a problem. I know what a flood coat is but not for this purpose, should I push the ink through the screen or just sorta spread a nice layer on?
So basically, If I screen at a steady pace I shouldnt have a problem right?
Thanks alot for the tip. |
